Pippa Hare

Pip Hare is a professional racing sailor, with a wealth of experience over the past 16 years in the marine industry, clocking up approximately 70,000 miles across the worlds’ oceans, including the Pacific, the Atlantic and as far south as Patagonia.

Pip has been sailing since she was a small child. Her parents and grandfather sailed International Folkboats on the River Deben in Suffolk and she grew up boating and sailing on the east coast waters of the UK.

In 2009 Pip launched her solo ocean racing career with a 7500 mile, non stop single-handed voyage from Uruguay to the UK. This achievement was shortly followed by entry to the OSTAR single-handed transatlantic race where Pip gained an impressive 15th place overall. In June 2010, Pip gained an overall 1st place in her class in the Round Britain and Ireland Race.

Banana Shark Racing

National powerboat champion John Cooke explains how he came to be involved in racing, and why he decided to set up his own company making boats. John Cooke moved to Devon 12 years ago, he never dreamt he would become a powerboat racer.

Now he is the National Champion in one class of powerboats, regularly seen racing his Bananashark Raceboat on the championship circuit.

When he’s not racing his time is spent developing and building the Bananashark 770 RIB, a boat best described as eye catching and individual; a must have if you want to spend your leisure time on the water.
